Anodised Aluminium Tags and Labels

Anodised Aluminium tags and labels are used for various applications, including equipment identification and branding, asset & inventory management and compliance plates.

Anodised Aluminium is more durable than vinyl and other plastics. It is best suited for use in harsh environments where it is resistant to abrasion, water- and weather-resistant, and UV-safe if printed on with black ink. The anodising process creates a hard layer on the surface and protects the print as well as the surface of the aluminium.

Anodised Aluminium Tags and Labels are suitable for:

  • Printing serial numbers onto machinery and white goods (dishwashers, fridges, washing machines etc)
  • Adding barcodes and QR codes permanently to products.
  • Including rating and safety information to products that require long-term visibility.

Anodised Aluminium Tags and Labels can be supplied with industrial adhesive backing to the rear or with holes for rivets or screws to suit the product or appliance it is being placed onto. Colour matching is also available, with pre-tinted colours available for laser etching. We can print that colour directly onto the tags where a specific background colour is required. Tags can be screen printed, digitally printed, etched and paint filled, laser etched, and embossed. Tags can be guillotine cut with square corners, die cut with a specific shaped cutting tool, or laser cut to any required shape. The aluminium is available in a variety of gauges, starting from 0.08mm up to 5mm, depending on the application for which it is required.

Q. Can Anodised Aluminium tags and labels be printed in Full Colour? Yes we can digitally print full colour on Anodised Aluminium.

Q. If our logo comprises certain Pantone (PMS) colours, can you print those colours? Yes, we can screen print Pantone colours.

Q. Can white ink be printed on Anodised Aluminium? Yes, we can print white, but it is not recommended. All colours other than white are embedded into the anodic layer, which protects the print from scratching. White ink is printed to the surface of the metal, and is therefore prone to scratching.

Q. Can tags and labels be chemically etched and paint filled as required in certain industries? Yes, we can chemically etch and paint fill our tags and labels. An example of this is fire door and frame tags.

Q. Do you have standard sizes that we can choose from? Most of our jobs are laser cut to whatever size & shape that you require. This includes rounded corners and holes.

Q. Are tags and labels supplied for easy installation? If required, our tags and labels can be supplied with either an industrial adhesive backing, or holes for screws or rivets, or both adhesive and holes.

Q. Is Anodised Aluminium available in different thicknesses (gauges)? Yes, the gauges that we work with are: 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.7mm, 0.8mm, 0.9mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.6mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm.

Q. Are Anodised Aluminium tags and labels resistant to external elements. All of our Anodised Aluminium tags and labels are water, weather and scratch resistant. However, only black print is totally UV safe. All other colours will fade over time with exposure to the sun.

Q. If I have more than 1 kind of artwork, can different kinds be printed at the same time? Yes, we will take your artwork files and combine them in a layout suitable for printing a number of different kinds at the same time.

Q. How long will it take to manufacture tags or labels in Anodised Aluminium? Standard turnaround for Anodised Aluminium jobs is 11-13 working days.
